I'm a marketer who flourishes in environments where I'm encouraged to try lots of new things, develop deep empathy for users, show the power of the written word, and define success.
From 2011 to 2018, I wore many hats on the marketing team at Credit Karma, helping to grow the company from 18 to 850 employees and the member base from about 3 million to more than 85 million. I developed content across all platforms and mediums, managed member support (a team of approximately 16 at the time), managed social media and PR efforts, co-developed brand positioning and helped launch a product marketing team. I also served as a key company spokesperson at CreditKarma.com for four years. As the Chief Consumer Advocate, I wrote regularly about credit cards, student loans and money-saving tips.
Originally from South Carolina, I received a B.A. in English and Spanish from Erskine College, a small, liberal arts school in Due West, South Carolina. I went on to receive my M.A. in Spanish Literature at Syracuse University before moving to San Francisco. I began working for See Jane Run, a locally owned women’s athletic apparel brand, where I fell in love with online content development, social media and running. I launched the See Jane Run Blog and managed the brand’s social media channels. During that time, I also volunteered for El Tecolote, a bilingual neighborhood magazine for the Mission District of San Francisco. I contributed articles, assisted with editing and translated several pieces from Spanish to English.
